Hey hun buns,
Lately I’ve really been enjoying reading skincare routines. Everyone has such a different product choice and ways of doing things.
I use quite a few drugstore products that have worked well with my skin over my teenage years.
I would say that I’ve got a mixed combination skin type. I have an oily T-zone most of year, but I get a couple dry areas in the winter.
When I wake up in the morning the first thing I do is go to the bathroom and wash my face. I use a variety of items;
Every time I run out of my main face wash (which I’m in the process of using now) – ‘Clearasil Rapid Action Gel Wash’, I like to swap it around with my other favourite – ‘Neutrogena Clear & Defend Facial Wash‘. I can always count on both of these products. They work so well for me!
I stick to the same face wash most days, but twice a week I like to switch it to a more exfoliating face scrub. One of my top best scrubs is ‘St Ives Blemish Control Apricot Scrub‘. Not only does it smell gorgeous… It also makes me skin feel so fresh and baby new 🙂.
If I’m not in the mood to pamper myself with a scrub, I will use my ‘Magnitone Cleansing brush‘ and a blob of my usual daily gel wash with it.
Once I’ve really foamed up my face wash, I let it set into my skin while I brush my teeth. I don’t actually know if giving the product a longer time on my skin works, but mentally it makes me feel like it’s getting into any nastyness and clearing it up.
After I’ve rinsed and dried my face, I put a splash of toner on a cotton pad and gently apply all over the face and a little bit on the neck too. I use the ‘Simple Soothing Facial Toner‘.
I let the toner soak into my skin and then I either use ‘The Ordinary Niachinamide 10% + Zinc 1%‘ on my T-zone or a spot treatment (‘Tea Tree Oil‘ is my absolute favourite product for spots, I’ve used it for years!), on any blemishes that I might have. I use an ear bud to apply the oil 😊.
I let whatever treatment on my face dry before I apply my moisturiser. I don’t want both items blending together, otherwise I feel that my blemishes won’t be able to soak up whatever I’ve used… If that makes sense?
Right now I’m using the ‘Simple Replenishing Rich Moisturiser’, which I do swear by as it soaks really well into my skin… but every now and then I like to swap it out if I’m having a pamper day, and I use a vitamin C moisturiser – like the ‘Superdrug Vitamin C Gel Moisturiser‘.
My final step is to apply a really soft lip balm or gloss. I’m loving the new ‘Vaseline Lip Gloss‘ at the moment, but I will always have the classic ‘Vaseline Jelly‘ in hand as well.
So that’s my every day morning routine! What’s your must have morning skin care product?
